Blisters and Brawls (2018)

Blisters and Brawls (2018)

Choreographed by John Trunfio

Performed by Troy Kelley

Sound and Text by John Trunfio with text spoken by Maxine Flasher-Düzgünes and Taína Lyons

Blisters and Brawls was John Trunfio’s first choreographic work for the stage. The dance was created by stringing together fragments of memories, themes, ideas, and experiences. This solo in conjunction to the originally composed sound and text by John Trunfio create an eerie atmosphere. This abstract movement diary deals with looming anxiety and facing bottled up emotions head on.

Blisters and Brawls premiered at NYU's Jack Crystal Theater as a part of NYU's summer dance residency in 2018.
